North Seattle Friends Church has released one director on a 30 percent basis and THARS has released one full time project manager to plan
and coordinate this ministry.
We also provide transportation and accommodations for in-country teachers, interpreters,
16 student trainees during the workshop, and a stipend for the teachers and interpreters.
Sewing equipment and enough fabric and supplies for a year of quilting making for each support group trained are covered
annually in the Peace Through Pieces budget. The annual budget for the Peace Through Pieces ministry is about $25,000.
Here are some ways to help.
Donate. A gift of $100 will buy a treadle sewing machine. $2,000 will pay for one airfare to Africa.
Would you like to “adopt a support group?”
A donation of $800 will provide all the equipment,
materials and supplies to keep a support group quilting for a year.
Ten dollars will buy a pair of scissors or five yards of fabric.
A gift in any amount is appreciated. All donations are tax deductible.
Buy a quilt. Purchase of one of the great quilts made by the African quilters helps in two ways: It supports Peace Through Pieces and helps the THARS groups to continue quilting.
Buy bags or be a distributor of bags. Peace Through Pieces has ordered 300 shopping/tote bags to be made by the THARS support groups. They will be available in July.
Invite Patty to speak. Patty Federighi, director of Peace Through Pieces, is available to speak at your church or meeting, your quilting group, service club, volunteer or study group.
Please call or email to inquire about bags, quilts or scheduling Patty to speak. 206-525-8800, pattyf@northseattlefriends.org
